This heavy walnut Roman X chair is a exquisite example of the Savonarola royal chair. The intricately carved back and arms are depicting the fantastical Griffin that had a lions body represented by the claw feet and the head and wings of this mythical Griffin winged creature. It was carved into this throne chair in order to give the Royal it's power. I found this chair in a Beverly Hills California antique store. The faux leopard fur is interchangeable with the chair's gold velvet seat if desired.
