Description
Great design & a beautiful piece of American history! This large haute design antique pierced brass chandelier features stylized asian lettering around the circumference of the piece. The cylindrical top has scrollwork designs. Great patina; c.1910-1930. The Art Nouveau characteristics bear this out. The chandelier must be re-wired if used for lighting. Dimensions: 32''W * 32''D * 18''L. Very good condition.
Great for a restaurant, another type of entertainment venue, home or office. Provides both a focal point and a point of interest/conversation wherever it is displayed.
Onyx, alabaster or stained glass inserts, for example, on sides and bottom can be used to diffuse the light. One artist suggested using it as the core for a coffee table or side table. The only limit is your imagination!
Pickup is free or Buyer can arrange their own shipping via freight. Uship, for example, will locate shippers and rates.
Originally this chandelier hung in a grand old Cincinnati, Ohio hotel or theater ( we cannot be sure which ). The building was probably demolished prior to the end of the 1960's to make way for downtown modernization. We don't know where it went from there until we located it in another dealer's garage on the east side of Cincinnati. It had a mate which we sold some time ago for $1000. We would not have lowered the price except we want to have it sold before we move out of our large art & antique shop in the next couple of months (if we do have to store it we will then have to raise the price to current market standards).

Condition:
Alterations: Original Condition Unaltered
Imperfections: Some Imperfections
Condition Notes: Good - Moderate wear and tear, but still has good years left. needs to be rewired.
Needs to be rewired if used as a lighting device. If used as a table buyer decides to rewire or not.
Buyer can include glass as was originally used behind the brass on top, bottom and sides. There was no glass when we acquired the chandelier.
We had a pair and the other one sold for $1000 quite awhile ago. It was in the same condition as this one.
It has been substantially discounted since we are closing our brick and mortar gallery and it is difficult to move and store.
