Here we have a beautiful antique solid quarter sawn oak Ladies Writing Desk. So many lovely details such as a scalloped top with beveled mirror, original carved appliques and beaded trim, a large dovetailed drawer, gorgeous hardware and graceful curves throughout. The slant front opens to reveal cubby holes, organizing dividers and a small drawer. The upper cabinets have the original acorn finial hinges and spring loaded ball catches which are in proper working order. I find no maker's mark, only an incised number on the back. Depth is 32 inches with the front dropped down.

PLEASE NOTE: This desk has been refinished at some point many years ago. Also, there are a couple of ink stains and small areas of trim that have gone missing over the years. These spots only affect the edges of the slant front. The drawer front and gallery appear to be intact. With these issues this desk might not be for the perfectionist, but it is in overall very good clean condition. Please examine the photos and feel free to ask questions.
