Two pairs of vintage adjustable keyless roller skates manufactured by the Globe Skate Corp. in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. The skates feature stamped steel frames and wheels with red central hubcaps. The footplates are designed for manual length adjustment via a sliding mechanism and include adjustable steel toe clamps and leather and vinyl straps lined with red and green plaid fabric padding. Each skate footplate is impressed with marks reading â„– 40, GLOBE SKATE CORP., MENOMONEE FALLS, WIS. U.S.A., and PAT. NO. 3,635,854. The skates are accompanied by two original retail boxes.

The skates and original boxes are in fair overall vintage condition, with the general character of heavy oxidation and age-related wear. Significant surface rust is present across the steel frames and wheels (photo 3). The leather and vinyl straps exhibit brittleness, cracking, and dry rot, including one strap that is partially torn (photo 6). The plaid fabric pads show fraying and soiling. The original cardboard boxes show moderate shelf wear with edge rubbing and creasing (photo 1). The mechanical adjustment clamps are present, but the skates are sold as collectibles and are untested for operational functionality.
