Gérôme (Jean-Léon) Four autograph letters signed ("JL. Gerome")

One letter, to Monsieur Blanche [likely the painter and art critic Jacques-Emile Blanche], mentions one of Gerome's associates, Mr Egries, who "has just finished a work regarding Mr Saint-Anne", adding "I have no doubt that you will speak of him in the Gazette des Beaux-Arts and give him a brief introduction. He and his work will inform you better than I can about what there is to say on this subject", one page, integral blank, n.p., n.d.; another note, to an unknown recipient, asks him to show the bearer 4 engravings...namely two by Leopold Robert and two by Delaroche (small size)", one page, 8vo, n.p., n.d.; another note, to "Mon cher Mare", mentions his son-in-law Aime' Morot, who "has been to India for 3 months and will not return until around the month of Mya; consequently, he will not send anything to the Salon, except perhaps an equestrian portrait of a lady", one page, integral balnk, 16mo, 65 Boulevard de Glichy, n.y.; the foruth note reads "Impossible, this photo is part of a volume - and besides, I no longer want to hear a word about this matter", one page, 8vo, 65 Boulevard de Glichy, 2 February 1903.
