An important and probably previously unpublished ms. letter of an eye-witness account of the wedding ceremony of Victoria, Princess Royal (1840-1901) to Frederick III of Germany (1831-1888) on 25th January 1858 in the Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace, (modern transcription included) from a Mrs Harriet Hopkins, resident of Pall Mall.

An important and previously unpublished ms. letter sent four weeks after Prince Albert’s death on 14th December 1861 (“the lamentable calamity which has befallen the Queen…”) from Osborne House regarding the requirement for a new will for Queen Victoria. Written by Sir Charles Beaumont Phipps (1801-1866, aide to Prince Albert) and sent to the then Lord Chancellor (Lord Wetsbury, 1810-1873).
