Essex (Walter Devereux, 1st Earl of) Signed indenture, 1563

Indenture on vellum, signed at close by Walter Devereux as Lord Hereford ('W. Hereforde'), regarding the sale of the manors of Orton and Morebarne grange, Leicestershire, to Robert Bradshaw, one page, red wax seal affixed at close, ink annotations on verso, soiling, handling wear and discolouration, folio, 28 Decembre 1563.

Morebarne or Moore Barn is a grange originally belonging to the Abbey of Merevale. It had been granted Devereux at the dissolution by Henry VIII.
