Title: Salvador Dali Limoges Porcelain Plates, La Conquete du Cosmos, Set of 6, 1970s

A complete set of six Limoges porcelain plates with designs by Salvador Dali, from his 1974 "Conquest of the Cosmos" series. The imagery is unmistakably his - melting watches, a towering giraffe, elongated figures in desert landscapes - rendered in fine black line with accents of red, blue, and yellow on white porcelain, each plate finished with a blue rim and a facsimile of the artist's signature.

The set has unusually good credentials. Each plate is back-stamped with a notarised certificate from Limoges naming its individual title, and all six share the same edition number - 1639 of 4,000 - so the set has remained together since it was issued in the 1970s, rather than being assembled later from odd plates
