The platter is done entirely in shades of blue and white, with a deep cobalt background and lighter blue accents throughout. The center oval medallion features a fruit motif, including a cantaloupe melon, grapes and grape leaves, and other stone fruits, along with flowers and leaves. Four floral cartouches are arranged around the border, one on each side, each decorated with a few flowers in the same blue and white palette. The platter measures 18 1/2 by 15 inches, or 47.0 by 38.1 centimeters. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs found anywhere on the piece. The only marks present are from the metal tripod stilts used to separate pieces in the kiln during firing, a normal and expected feature. The underside is unmarked, which is quite common for platters of this type and period.
