Late 19th century. Round woven baskets, two with leather trim. 12.75" to 16" diameter. The largest basket retains a note that it was collected by Rev. Perrig of the Holy Rosary Mission. Rev. Emil Perrig (1846-1909) spent more than two decades with the Lakota peoples , including time at the Holy Rosary Mission, which was on the Pine Ridge Resveration. His voluminous papers are part of the collection of the Jesuit Papers at Marquette University. Provenance: a Pennsylvania collection.
