Walter Lopez Corona is a recognized potter from the Barrio Americano section of Mata Ortiz. He is featured in the foundational book The Miracle of Mata Ortiz by Walter Parks. He is married to fellow master potter Maria Cecilia Zuniga, and the two frequently collaborate or sign pieces together. He is highly regarded for crafting beautiful miniature pottery , elongated wedding vases , and small canteens using deep red and black clays decorated with highly precise, matte geometric slip work
