Description
The lines of this Robbins & Myers fan cage really caught
our attention. This company was founded in 1878 as a gray
iron foundry for bicycles and agricultural machinery. In 1897
they introduced their own line of fans and in 1949 acquired
the Hunter Fan Company. Their unique style of fan cage is
almost Art Deco in nature while the size of this piece
casts a beautiful shadow against the wall. We paired this
artifact with a round mirror to highlight the design while
at the same time re-inventing it's intended purpose.
Condition:
Alterations: Original Design Modified
Imperfections: Some Imperfections
Condition Notes: The industrial fan cage from the 1950's has a gold tone badge on the front with some signs of wear. Please see closeup detail photo. The metal work of the fancage is in very good condition. The round mirror behind it is sold together with the fan cage but it is not attached to the fan cage. The mirror has been attached to a wood backing with hanging hardware. The mirror was cut to compliment the size of the fan cage itself. The mirror mounts to the wall and the fan cage sits on top of the mirror. A small nail can be used to rest the fan cage behind the mirror for support. It is a very simple wall mount.
