18th C. Dutch Delft Herring Fishery Dish Blue White De Porceleyne Bijl Mark - circa 1750-1775, Delft, Netherlands. Decorated in blue over white with a charming, hand-painted herring fishing scene and inscribed as follows: No. 6 Een Zeeschuit op de Neering (No. 6 A Sea Barge on the Neering). The plate is marked on the reverse with an axe mark known as De Porceleyne Bijl (The Porcelain Axe), an early Delft factory. Zoom into photos to appreciate in detail. We have seen similar items dated circa 1750-1775.
