Mirror, mirror on the wall...who is the most beautiful Antique repousse mirror of all?! Hailing from early European Arts & Crafts era, this mirror is ultra rare and simply swoon worthy. It features a thick, entirely hand crafted metal frame adorned with ornate deep relief repousse. Repousse is a tedious technique of pounding the back of a pliable metal so that a relief tableau is raised. Beveled mirrors were not common due to the fact that, during this era. beveled glass surfaces had to be hand ground and were quite pricey. So only the finer mirrors had this quality; and this one does! If you flip the mirror over to the backside you will see the heavy duty, sold wood backing comprising of hand cut paneling. It has a metal wire which lends to hanging portrait (long ways) and can easily be hung on any wall simply with a nail. Whether you wish to add classic arts & crafts vibes to your wall, a dose of early Hollywood Glamour, or a nice eclectic touch...this mirror will not disappoint.
