This is a true vintage and rare mid century Famille Rose chinoiserie colorful garden seat in pink, yellow blue and green. Round in form, this ceramic piece is hand-painted with embosed figurative examples and flora and fauna in rich colors. All of which are symbols of longevity or prosperity and are common among many traditional Chinese pieces. The top, front and back feature a pierced design with a circular motif around the exterior. The cut-out is in the shape of a Chinese coin/pair of chinese coin. In design, one can almost always rely on the presence of Chinese motifs that harken to the rich ancient historical traditions of the country as a mainstay in decor. And this piece is no exception.
