Exquisite 19th-century porcelain centerpiece by C.G. Schierholz & Sohn, Plaue, Germany, circa 1880-1895. Founded in 1817, Schierholz became celebrated for Rococo Revival figural wares richly adorned with applied roses and romantic pastoral scenes. This rare example features a courting couple at a draped table beneath a floral encrusted basket, rising from a vine-wrapped column with hand-formed blossoms. Such elaborate centerpieces were luxury parlor and dining ornaments in affluent European homes.

Measures approx. 15.5" h x 10.5" w. A striking statement for Victorian, Romantic, French Country, or Grandmillennial interiors.
