This is a heavy cast brass light fixture, smooth body, no seams. Unlike sheet metal brass you are less likely to get dings or dents. Sets on a brass base. Lamp measures 26" to the top of finial, 20" to the top of socket. Has a 3-way switch. Lampshade is not included
