Large antique hand-stitched needlepoint set in a richly hand-carved pine frame, circa late 19th century. The pastoral scene features travelers and a hunter at rest, executed in fine wool on canvas. Housed in its original polished pine frame attributed to William Talbot-a fine art dealer, carver, gilder, and picture frame manufacturer based on Market Street, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England. Label affixed verso. Solid and substantial, with a warm patina to the wood and finely preserved textile work.
