This vessel is an authentic antique Mexican Spanish Colonial-style clay pot, specifically known as a pulque bowl or ritual black-ware jar. Crafted in Mexico during the late 19th to early 20th century. Made of a classic redware or dark terracotta body, it is glazed with a distinct, heavy metallic black glaze. It features a multi-handled design with beautifully pulled ceramic loop handles clustered at the shoulders. Adorned with a stylized serpent or vine pattern, paired with sharp decorative clay hooks or spikes jutting out around the neck. Unsigned.
