The glass bottle has a flattened round shape tapering towards the base and ending in a short raised oval foot. The red glass overlay is nicely carved with designs of peonies and begonias, and on the sides, lingzhi fungus and perhaps orchids. On close examination, knife marks can be seen on the glass, a good proof of age. The top of the bottle is flat and remnant specks of snuff can be seen at the bottom of the interior. The snuff bottle is matched with a custom made stopper, designed by Barbara Handlon. It is constructed by a half jade bead sitting on a light green jade button and encased in silver.
