Description
An Antique rectangular mirror featuring an ornate wooden carved frame. Its construction and stylistic features are consistent with Victorian or French Continental Restoration styles popular between 1850-1900, specifically during the reigns of Louis Phillippe and Charles X. Its glass features original "mercury ice" (mercurized blown glass) and exhibits significant foxing and de-silvering - we'd say true authentic antique charm - which are common signs of aging in mirrors dating from the late 19th century. The frame shows cosmetic wear also consistent with that age period, including the chips, scratches and an aged worn patina in keeping with a beautiful piece that's weathered 100+ years and has the scars/soul/character to prove it. If you're looking for a true statement piece to reside on a wall or above a fireplace/mantel, this beauty could be the star of any room or aesthetic setting. Measures 30x34x2" and weighs 22 pounds. Ready to hang.
