The pretty snuff bottle is made of a semi-precious stone noted for its apricot color. Apricot agate is a variegated from of Chalcedony, a fibrous form of Quartz. The bottle has a flattened rectangular form tapering towards the base which is concave. Its top is flat and the cap is a pink stone carved as a rose on a white disc. The flat surfaces of the bottle are decorated with a branch of plum blossoms and a bamboo with leaves. The carving is very subtle. The bottle is well hollowed, which is a good sign of age.
