Description
This is a pair of 1960s Taverneau wood tray platters made in Haiti and designed by Arthur Umanoff for Raymor via his studio, Pantalcraft.
From his biography "All of Umanoff's designs were centered around the belief that design should not just be beautifully constructed and functional, but attainable. Umanoff created versatile designs for the home that were celebrated for both their quality (thanks to natural materials and new methods) and for their simplified, functional forms that outlast trends."
Many of his designs were imagined in wrought iron, rattan, walnut, and birch, sprinkled with functional details that remained naturally elegant thanks to slender, tapered lines.
They have rattan wrapped handles and each measure 13" x 11.875" x 1"
Condition:
Alterations: Original Condition Unaltered
Imperfections: Some Imperfections
Condition Notes: These are vintage pieces that are intact and in overall good condition. The rattan wrapped handles are not loose or broken. There are no discernible nicks, chips, or cracks on the wood (see photos) and any imperfections in the wood are its natural state, whereas any wear is commensurate with their age and past usage.
