Description
The object is an irregular hollowed out tree trunk or branch that has a knarled knobby surface. This peculiar surface is caused by a plant disease that caused the tree to grow this way as a means of self defense. This occurence may not be found anywhere in China. This came from a particular forest on the mountains of Anhui province in eastern China.
The object has a ceramic bowl that was fitted so plants can grow. On the ceramic bowl can support a pot of primroses as featured here. The bowl can also be the base of an Ikebana arrangement. However it is being used, it is a conversation piece and it is one of kind, unique piece of nature.
