Offered is a hand-carved and lathed crab-shaped trinket or ring box made of Taverneau wood in Haiti in the mid to late 1960s.

This is typical folk art and a travel souvenir, yet it is particularly charming because it doesn't have the name of a country etched on it.

It can be used as a vide poche for stashing keys and loose change on a console, a pill box, or for storing rings, earrings, etc. on a dresser or nighstand, or even as a soap dish in a powder room.

It measures approximately 5.625" in width, 7" in length, and 1.5" in height.

Condition Notes: The trinket box is in fair condition, however, there are nicks and chips on the claws (see photos), particularly the crab's right upper claw which has two visible tips that have broken.
