A rare early antique Dutch Delft herring fish (haring-schaaltje) dish. It is early 19th-Century, hand painted in the traditional colors of cobalt blue with a water and landscape scene. It is hand molded and shaped like a fish and raised upon 3 small legs. The maker's mark is on the reverse. We have never had one of these rare pieces before.
