Offered is a hand-embroidered Otomi/Tenango textile from the Hidalgo region of Mexico.

The embroidery depicts stylized figures of flora and fauna centered around a large starburst in vibrant colors. The patterns are hand-stitched onto a base cloth of off-white cotton known as "manta". These textiles are often used as decorative wall hangings, or used as tablecloths, table runners, bedspreads, or for pillows and clothing.

This piece is 72" long by 66" wide, and we've draped it above over a king size bed to show the entire piece.

Condition Notes: This piece is intact and there are no loose threads or stains. There is a small yellow discoloration near one of the embroideries of similar tone so it is hard to see but we took a detailed image. We suggest dry-cleaning this piece.
