Kuniyoshi's work is notable for its captivating portrayal of warriors, and this piece illustrates the legendary tale of the 47 Ronin. The print is framed and matted, featuring an artist signature ('Ichiyūsai Kuniyoshi ga'), a publisher's seal (Ebiya Rinnosuke), and dual censor seals (Mera-Murata) indicating it dates to circa 1847-1848. Utagawa Kuniyoshi (c. 1798 - 1861) was a master of the ukiyo-e style, known for his dynamic designs and imaginative themes.
