The Chestnut pattern is an English variation of the Imari pattern.
These early variations were cataloged in the historic Derby Plate Pattern Books. These meticulously hand-sketched books were used by factory painters and gilders in the 18th and 19th centuries to ensure design accuracy across large dinner and dessert services
