Riedener also famously designed the The Lombardi Trophy. The story begins with a simple sketch on a napkin. In 1966, Tiffany & Co. vice president Oscar Riedener drew the basic idea during lunch with NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle. That sketch became the design for the first Super Bowl trophy in 1967.
