Description
Vintage Steiff plush llama figure with a mohair coat in cream with brown spotting along the back, glass eyes, felt-lined ears, and poseable wire-armature legs allowing it to stand independently. Steiff is the renowned German toymaker founded in 1880, famous for pioneering the jointed teddy bear and for its signature "Button in Ear" trademark, introduced in 1904 to mark genuine Steiff pieces. This example has a visible hole in the ear where the button once was, confirming authenticity even though the button itself is no longer present. Steiff's realistic animal figures, especially less common subjects like llamas, are actively sought by collectors of mid-century plush and figural toys. Measures approximately 5.5" H x 5" L x 2" W.Condition:Good vintage condition. Wear commensurate with age. Mohair is intact with light overall flattening/matting consistent with age and handling. Steiff button is absent; a hole is visible in the left ear where the button was originally affixed (see photos). No bald spots, tears, or seam separations noted otherwise. Please review photos closely; we do our best to catch all flaws but small imperfections can be missed.Dimensions: H: 5.5", W: 2", L: 5"
