An impressive and handsome set of four books containing eight volumes from the 19th century, "Voyages autour du monde et naufrages celebres" written in French by Gabriel Lafond. Printed Paris, E. Lachaud, 1870. Inscribed on the half-title, a later edition. Tan Morocco backed boards with red lettering labels, gilt. Measure 9 3/4" x 6 1/2". Each volume with half-title, 80 plates with many beautiful vibrant hand-colored images. Condition: Very good for age. Toning to first leave, foxing, inscription ink bled, minor scuffs to boards.
