Description
Set of 5 porcelain plates hand-painted with vibrant colors of gold, blue, green with white flower blossoms and birds. This pattern is no longer in production. Kutani ware, made as early as the 17th century, uses a brush for painting with Japanese coloring paint, as you can see the painted part is slightly thickened. Partial gilt rim.
4 larger plates are 10" diameter x 1" high, 1 smaller plate at 7.25" diameter.
Made by Kutani in Japan and purchased from the now closed Takahashi Trading Company in San Francisco.

Condition Notes: Gilded rims are partially worn. The smaller plate has a very small chip and loss to the paint as shown.
