A rustic and whimsical pair of one of a kind handmade candlesticks from provincial northern China. An easy way to add rustic character and charm to the home. The chinese candle holder / candle stick is handcrafted from hardwood and earthenware pottery / ceramics, having hand carved wooden floriform (floral - flower - blossom) bobeche atop tall slim standard, rising from a decorated, shaped ceramic base. Remnants of the original polychrome paint remain.

A wonderful example of Oriental Asian folk art. Full of character and charm, having textured surfaces, subtle asymmetry, slightly varied size, a beautiful warm, rustic patina over the whole, with an elegantly aged, worn and distressed finish. With some old chips and irregularity, adding to their allure.
