Rustic antique French grain measure from the late 19th or early 20th century. Sourced through a to-the-trade importer of European antiques. Generously proportioned (14.75"Dia. at base x 14.5"H); wood slat structure wrapped in metal on the exterior with fabulous handmade hardware (see detail) and a metal T-bar inside for carrying. Lovely to display or to re-purpose as an umbrella or walking stick stand, a wrapping paper organizer, or as kindling storage next to the fireplace. No maker's marks.

As found condition with great patina, sturdy solid bottom, and no holes; wear to the surfaces, particularly metal edges and strap on bottom..
