A Transferware platter in the 'Fountain' pattern - Enoch Wood & Sons. - Burslem, Staffordshire, England - circa 1818-1846.

A dramatic and detailed chocolate brown printed earthenware platter with a central image of a large triple tiered fountain placed in the middle of a pool, surrounded by full leafy trees. A pair of figures stand in the mid-ground with domed buildings and mountains visible in the distance under a clouded sky. The scalloped rim has a gorgeous floral and scrolled border.

A great size for display.

Marked: A scrolled cartouche, E. Wood & Sons, with the pattern name.
