Shelley English Bone China Heather tea cup with matching saucer circa 1962-1963. The tea cup pattern features a wooded scene with pink flowers in front and tall amber trees. The inside of the tea cup depicts the yellow path which is shown on the plate. The tea cup has a light green handle and gold top rim.

The plate features both the amber trees and the yellow path with a stream and covered bridge between them and hills in the background.

Shelley is one of the most collectible tea cups. Shelley began producing beautiful fine bone china in the 1820s and is based in Staffordshire, England. The china is very thin yet strong. Shelley continued until 1966 when it was sold to Allied English Potteries.

In the early 1960's Shelley Potteries began a system to date their wares. For china produced in 1962 and 1963, the letter "A" was placed under the word "England" on the backstamp.

The Heather plate has the number 839/A beneath the FINE BONE CHINA, Shelley, ENGLAND mark indicating that it was made between 1962-1963.
