1940's Steubenville Woodfield Majolica Leaf Plates- Set of 6

Description

Lovely set of 6 leaf plates in various shades of green, blue, yellow, and gray. 3 with cup indention, and 3 without.

A group of local Steubenville, Ohio, citizens founded the Steubenville Pottery Company in 1879. By the early 1900s, it was manufacturing dinnerware and toilet sets made in semi-vitreous cream-colored wares, granite ware, and semi-porcelain.

Steubenville is best known for its American Modern dinnerware which it released in 1939. Russel Wright designed the shape line.
