Description
A studio pottery vase by American ceramicist Jack O'Leary (1918-1981) of Tariki Studio. In several shades of brown and tan, this vase features a circle on the front with an abstract design. It is signed to the underside.
Jack O'Leary was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and initially studied geochemistry at the University of Michigan but eventually switching to ceramics at Alfred University in New York State after WWII. He lived and worked in New England, teaching at Dartmouth in the 1960s. By 1972, he opened the Tariki Studio in Meriden, New Hampshire.
