Item Details
A bit of Textile History here in this stunning example of a hand pierced Mennonite quilt. The Roman Striped pattern is known to be used by the Mennonite and Amish people. The strong rich colors which are typical of this time and the Mennonites are chocolate brown, blue, black, dark pink and soft yellow/white with patterned fabrics. The back of the quilt is a floral with Burgundy, mustard, pink, white and green. The quilting of this is hand pierced and it is handmade.

The condition is very good, especially for a quilt this old. There a worn fabric pieces, and tiny pieces showing plenty of age which I show examples of in the photos. Overall it is a great piece with an striking appearance. I was thrilled to find this!
