Dala horses (Dalahastar in Sweden) are traditional carved and painted wooden statues originating from the Swedish province of Dalarna. Their roots trace back to the 17th century. They were initially created as toys for children during long winter nights.

They are now a Swedish cultural icon, representing Swedish identity and craftsmanship. The floral patterns make each horse unique. This particular horse is vintage and a wonderful size.
