A finely proportioned Regency period toleware chestnut urn and cover of classical design, featuring a decoupaged gilt fruit basket framed by a laurel wreath and foliate motifs set against a blue-gray ground of exceptional color, texture, and patina.

The lid is topped with a pinecone finial and adorned with a gold palmette design, while the sides feature lion's head door knocker-style handles.

The urn is raised on a footed pedestal decorated with matching palmettes and set atop a square plinth base.

Marked "Made in Italy TY" on the underside. The body bears an artist's signature, though it is indecipherable. Circa 1859, mid to late 19th century.
