In the recent years, new technology made way for innovative forms of glass snuff bottles. This bottle is made of blue frosted glass with a white overlay. of large butterlfies and flowers. New methods allow crisp designs without the painstaking task of carving into glass. The playful placement of the butterflies and flowers give the bottle a lively atmosphere. The bottle has a nice double gourd shape. The four character square cartouche on one side is a spurious mark of Qianlong. (During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty in the 18th Century, Chinese Art had reached her zenith, thus the attribution of that glorious time.)

The stopper - lapis lazuli, wrapped in metal is not well made.
