Antique Copper Umbrella Cane Stand Holder by S.W.Farber New York Late 19 Century Original Antique Patina

"S.W. Farber, Inc. was founded in 1897 by Simon W. Farber in New York City, New York. Its industry was cookware and appliances and its headquarters remained in New York City (Brooklyn, later Bronx), New York. In 1966, the company was acquired by Walter Kidde & Company, and in 1972 ownership was passed down to the LCA Corporation, a subsidiary of Walter Kidde. The company was acquired by Hanson Industries in 1987 and integrated into U.S. Industries Inc. in 1995.

"In 1996, ownership of most Farberware assets were acquired 50/50 by the Lifetime Hoan Corporation (started a marketing license with Farberware in 1990) and Syratech Corporation. Lifetime acquired rights to its cutlery, kitchen gadgets and barbecue accessories and 50 outlet stores while Syratech acquired its cookware and small electrical appliance business. Syratech closed the Farberware plant in the Bronx later in 1996 and manufacturing was moved to Indonesia. In 1997, Lifetime made a deal with the Meyer Corporation to joint-operate the brand and outlet stores. In 2002, Syratech sold its share to Lifetime through the Plaid Licensing Group. Today, Farberware products are licensed through the Farberware Licensing Group, LLC who are based out of Needham, Massachusetts and owned by Meyer and Lifetime Brands."
