Description
Antique 1-liter French stoneware master mustard crock, once used in epiceries and charcuteries to dispense mustard into smaller retail jars. Stamped Moutarde Bocquet - Yvetot on the reverse, with a partially intact original label reading Moutarde Douce aux Fines Herbes. These larger shop crocks are far less common than their petite counterparts and were rarely saved. A wonderful example of French culinary advertising and utilitarian design.
