An American open-face pocket watch featuring a Wadsworth octagonal case in 14 karat yellow gold-filled metal. The white enamel dial is printed in black with the name ELGIN and features black Arabic numeral hour markers, red outer five-minute numerals, and a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. The blued steel hands consist of a spade hour hand and a whip minute hand. The case back exterior is decorated with engraved vertical pinstripes and foliate scrollwork at the corners, centering a vacant shield cartouche. The interior of the case back is stamped with the name Wadsworth, the purity mark 14 K GOLD FILLED, and the serial number 5233510. The case interior also bears several hand-scratched watchmaker service marks, including 500R and 2052-R. The bridge-plate movement is inscribed with the serial number 20132827 and the text ELGIN NATL WATCH CO. U.S.A., 15 JEWELS, and DOUBLE ROLLER, alongside an S/F regulation scale. Note: Not working.
