Description
A collection of handcrafted folk art character pottery comprising one pitcher and two small cups, all fashioned from a textured, speckled brown stoneware. The primary piece is a pitcher featuring a large anthropomorphic face with an open mouth showing a dark brown glazed tongue and a row of light-colored teeth, with eyes oriented upward. The rim, handle, and spout are finished in a dark brown glaze that continues into the interior. The two smaller cups feature similar character faces with two small white horn-like points on each brow. One cup is detailed with a white-glazed mustache and small dark eyes, while the other features a wide, toothy grin. The interiors are finished with a brownish-green glaze. Each cup bears a black printed mark on the base reading 800. The base of the pitcher is unmarked. Pitcher measures approximately 9 1/2 inches in height. Each cup measures approximately 2 3/4 inches in height.
