Item/Description: Iconic signed statement snake ring by renowned Native American silversmith, Effie Calavaza (1927-2019), perhaps one of the most recognized Zuni artists. Hand-wrought in Sterling Silver. Tapered band. Signet style ring, raised mounting with sawtooth settings holds two azure blue Kingman turquoise nuggets. Highly polished and beveled. Two curling snakes with bright blue eyes and carved bodies wrap around the crown. Fantastic detail and design. Hallmarked: Effie C. Zuni.

Condition: Very Fine. Silver free of damage, dents, repair. Turquoise free of cracks, chips, loss. Surface irregularities, matrix are original to stone. Signs of age, use, and wear including scratches, scuffs, patina. Hammer marks on inner aspect reflect silversmith's artistry.
