Description
Robert Bliss ( American 1925-1981, Mass..) well-known painter in Massachusetts, widely collected and known for paintings of the figure and shoreline landscapes. The scene is a view of a solitary boat resting on shore in the bright light of day, empty of activity but loaded with emotional content. Painted in somber tones of army green and olive. An oil on canvas work in the original frame, not dated but circa 70s.' A quiet beauty, large empty spaces with a very textural surface. While a figurative work, it is largely an abstracted conception. The size is 21.75" by 17.75" framed.
