A beautiful painting of a mature gentleman with a lace collar and a gold metallic embroidered collar. 18th-century style formal portrait. Likely French or Italian work. Painted on thick beveled wood panel with thin glazed colors. A fine network of crackle is over the surface; see detail of close-up.
The measurements are 10" by 11.25,", and the panel measures 6" by 7.5". The frame is 1.75" thick gilt wood.
